A Little History

For those of you who don't live in the New York area, let me explain how this Blog came to be.

A bunch of us went to Reunion this year. Thirty-five years. I can't believe it. I'm just 27, right? Arthur Levy wrote a great e-mail that captured his feelings about the event. This e-mail was shared with a lot of classmates. Some of the NY crowd who didn't attend Reunion thought it would be fun to get together in the city with those who did. Wendy Caplin arranged a great dinner at Becco that was attended by Wendy, Arthur, Geoff Belinfante, Ruth Katz, Emily White, Walter Klores (honorary member of the Class of '69), Larry Harlow, Wendy's husband (also an honorary member) and me. Great people, great food, and a great evening.

My brother the Republican found this site and created a family blog. I thought it would be fun to do something similar for our class. Here it is. I hope to see lots of interesting and amusing posts from our "cadre."

My Brother Is A Republican

My dearly beloved brother David came out of the closet quite a few years ago as a Republican. The good news is that he lives in California, an overwhelmingly Democratic state, so his vote doesn't matter much. In 2000 he voted Libertarian because he really doesn't like Bush. But I fear that he is going to vote for Dubya this time. (Something to do with an unfounded fear that the Dems will make Iraq worse than it is by bringing in the UN. Is it possible to screw Iraq up worse???) Even though California is going to continue to be a "blue" state, I worry. What's a loving sister to do? Remember, friends don't let friends vote Republican.

Welcome Brandeisians

I learned about this site from my brother who created a family blog. I decided to create this Blog so that we might have a place where our Brandeis friends could keep in touch. We won't limit it to the Class of '69 since Walter Klores is always welcome, but the idea was enjoy that special 1969 bond. Maybe we did go to the "real Brandeis"!

So feel free to post--social, political, personal. Whatever. And invite friends to join.
